Hello! and welcome to my website. Here I am hoping to post about my interests, mainly focused around anime and manga, as well as make some posts that are informative to those who are interested. It being a blog will also mean it will be filled with posts of just my thoughts and rambling on stuff in the industry, the current season and topics of the like.
I began watching anime as many did in the 2000’s, with Dragon Ball and Naruto on Toonami. Once I got my own computer I slowly started watching a lot more series in dub, until eventually I learned about watching things seasonally. Except for a small stretch in college, I have been watching seasonally since. I remember the first manga I purchased was some Naruto volumes, until one day while in Borders, I came across a series called Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. I instantly became a super fan of the authors, CLAMP, and still am to this day (xxxHolic finally continuing!). CLAMP and Tsubasa’s poor anime adaptation, thus supplemented the additional drive to also collect and read manga.
The reason I wanted to start a blog was the overall desire to engage more with my hobby. I find myself desiring an outlet to talk about the topics I am enthusiastic about. I never been too big on engaging in online discussion spaces. Even more so now that I can feel the age gap in the overall fandom, despite still being in my twenties. So I figured trying to write about things might be a good pass time and also help me externalize my excitement a little bit. Also giving me an excuse to delve deeper into niche topics. Honestly, even if I’m mostly posting to the void, I think I would feel content as long as I am consistent with posting.
The name for the blog is inspired by The Dangers in My Heart, since I have been obsessed with it since it aired. Didn’t realize picking a name for the blog would be such a hard task, so I ended up making it a play off the name of the series. Honestly I do like the way it sounds and hope I don’t regret it in the future.
My first post I wrote was about Akira Toriyama, his life and legacy, and how I perceived the world he occupied. I began writing it shortly after his death and after a long process have released it and this website. Hope you enjoy and find something of value here!
